Ghostfinder: Shift - The Walkthrough Warning: This short walkthrough will spoil the game outright. Only use if you really want to see the ending, and no longer care about the story. You should probably start the investigation by searching up every victim name first - of course, it goes without saying that you should probably also have read all of the material that Stanton gave you. In order to solve the case, you will need to cause the input box asking for the perpetrator's name to appear, and to do THAT, you have to accumulate a certain number of progress points by visiting certain passages. "Alison Brown", "Burger Assault", "Andrea Linton", "Howard Linton", "Mira Monet Hotel", "Emily Raines", "Miriam Turner", "Mike Turner", "Jordan Stark", "Clayton Rogers", and "Peter McElroy" all give you 1 progress point each, and you only need 4 to wrap up the case, so visit four in any order or combination you'd like. Once the prompt is up, "Pete McElroy" is the killer's name; type that in in all lower case, and you're done! Everything following that is essentially an extended epilogue that should take no more than about 5 minutes to wrap up. An explanation: Pete McElroy's name is the sole name connected to every victim, while meeting every criteria for being the killer. The player was intended to notice that the Bay Side Killer's attacks seem to coincide with the Burger Assault catering service, where McElroy works. McElroy was also a refinery worker in Calernia before then, making him it possible that he was the Calernia Burglar. Another big clue is Lindsay McMillan, whose boyfriend, as a Conrad Hills resident, should set off alarm bells as an extremely strong BSK suspect, and who can be deduced to be Pete from speaking to Steve Alvers.
