The noise is incredible. There are Nowhere and Somewhere soldiers engaged in hand-to-hand combat in scattered groups, or else running around trying to find cover. Every few seconds an incoming cannon ball falls short and throws up a shower of dirt as it slams into the ground.";

An incoming cannon ball from the Nowhere troops whistles past your ear as you finally drag yourself up and into the gondola.";
